Anna Marie is a self-taught artist who launched her labor of love, My Leilani Designs, in 2010, so that she could support the WSA and spread awareness of Williams Syndrome. Ever since she found out her daughter had a rare genetic condition called Williams syndrome she wanted a way to "wear" and spread awareness of this rare condition. You will always see her sporting a black rubber Williams syndrome bracelet but she wanted something not so generic and so she worked on bringing her dream to life.
After the birth of her daughter Anna Marie moved to the shore to be with her family. It was while walking on the beach one day Anna came up with My Leilani Designs: Creations By The Sea and then started to work on her design concept of genetic jewelry and custom photo jewelry. Anna has always enjoyed making things and taking photographs. In fact some of her pieces are actually photographs and drawings she has created, all of which have been inspired by her courageous daughter, Ava Jewel, who has been on life support twice and had a cardiac arrest all before the age of four. While Ava continues to battle her life threatening condition, her strength continues to provide motivation for Anna Marie’s jewelry.
Anna Marie truly cherishes every moment and enjoys life to the fullest with her Leilani (child from the heavens). Her unique designs embody the powerful commitment between a parent and a child.
